Computational Soft Matter Physics (Hybrid Multiscale Modelling)
Modelling and computational simulation of soft matter liquids is a challenging problem, since such fluids may exhibit complex non-Newtonian effects, such as shear-thinning/thickening, viscoelasticity or flow-induced phase separation. In this project we aim to combine particle-based molecular simulations with computational fluid dynamics by applying a hybrid particle-continuum approach in close collaboration with the group of Maria Lukacova in the department of mathematics.
