Project B6 (N): PhD Position
Two PhD positions in Computational and Theoretical Polymer Physics
The Institute of Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research Mainz (MPI-P) jointly announce two open positions for PhD students. The positions are embedded in the DFG Collaborative Research Centre “TRR 146: Multiscale Simulation Methods for Soft Matter Systems” (www.trr146.de).
Coarse-grained models are an essential tool for computational studies of polymeric materials. In this project we aim to develop and validate coarse-grained models for concentrated polymer liquids. The models are based on hierarchical backmapping and soft potentials while validation tools are derived from knot theory. Coarse-grained structures will be compared to microscopic reference data generated by large-scale molecular dynamics simulations.
Interested applicants are encouraged to send their files (CV and transcripts) to Kostas Daoulas (email@example.com) and Peter Virnau (firstname.lastname@example.org).
